Clement Ariel Mballa, MSc student
Clement Ariel Mballa is a Master’s student in Clinical Biology (Immunology option) at the School of Health Sciences, Catholic University of Central Africa (ESS-UCAC). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the same institution, where he acquired a solid foundation in medical biology, including hematology, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
As part of his academic training, he completed hospital-based laboratory internships, which allowed him to develop practical competencies in laboratory techniques, biological analysis management, quality assurance, inventory control, and laboratory organization. These experiences strengthened his interest in applied clinical biology and enhanced his understanding of disease pathophysiology.
Currently specializing in immunology, Ariel is particularly interested in host immune responses to infectious disease, with a focus on tropical diseases and co-infections malaria-schistosomiasis. Within this context, he is conducting his Master’s research at the Unit of Immunobiology and Helminth Infections (IBHI Lab) of the Institute of Medical Research and Medicinal Plant Studies (IMPM) under the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation (MINRESI) in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Through his Master’s training, Ariel aims to contribute to the improvement of biological diagnostics, patient management, and prevention strategies, grounded in a deeper understanding of immune mechanisms. His long-term objective is to pursue a career in clinical biology and biomedical research, with a commitment to addressing public health challenges in endemic settings.
