
Kevin Djepi, MSc student
Kevin Djepi is a Master’s student at the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC) and is currently conducting his research work at the Immunobiology and Helminth Infections (IBHI) Laboratory of the Institute of Medical Research and Medicinal Plant Studies (IMPM), under the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation (MINRESI).
He began his academic training at the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the Faculty of Science. He later pursued further studies at UCAC, School of Health Sciences, completing a preparatory program before entering the Master’s cycle with a specialization in Bacteriology and Virology. In parallel with his academic training, he has undertaken several internships in medical analysis laboratories across Cameroon, strengthening his practical laboratory and diagnostic skills.
At the IBHI Lab of IMPM, Djepi Kevin is involved in research activities exploring f helminth infections in relation to gut mycrobiome, with particular interest in fungal communities and their potential as biomarkers of Schistosoma mansoni infection. His Master’s research is carried out under the co-supervision of Dr. Cyrille Kontchou and Dr. Justin Nono.
Driven by a strong interest in infectious diseases and medical mycology, Djepi Kevin aspires to continue developing his expertise in microbiology and biomedical research, particularly in areas relevant to disease diagnosis and public health in endemic regions.
